February 6th, 2011: Dealing With Doubt
Life Application Study:
(A Bible study printed in the bulletin each week that builds on the Sunday message)
Help My Unbelief! Biblical Text: Mark 9:20-24 (NASB)
- What does it say (observation):
- Describe this boy’s condition:
- What does the father desire?
- When his faith is questioned what does the father admit?
- Does Jesus punish this man for his admission?
- What do you think (interpretation):
- When Jesus says “All things are possible to him who believes”, does that mean you can do anything if you believe or that you believe God is capable of doing anything?
- Does faith necessarily yield the results you desire or is faith an acknowledgement of God’s ability and surrender to God’s will? (consider Mark 14:35-36)
- What will you do as a result (application):
- Are there any situations where you doubt God’s ability?
- How can you exercise faith that God can do anything AND that God’s will is best?
- What would that mean in the area of your greatest doubt?
