Prayer Wall Challenge from our Youth Girls

Every week on Mondays from 7-8:30pm at New Hope, Morgan Baker and Alexis Bialas have been having so much fun teaching these girls how to live their L.I.F.E in the image of God. In the meantime, the girls have been teaching their leaders to become closer to God as well! And now they get to include our church, challenging them to get closer to God with their awesome new prayer wall for everyone to use!

At the bottom of the steps in the basement of New Hope is a partition wall, where you can add your prayers or jot down prayers to add to your prayer list.  Let’s pray for each other and grow in Christ as we do.  Remember if you are a 6th -10th grade girl, you too can enjoy L.I.F.E.: (Living In Faith Everyday) information below.

Men’s Conference:  The Men’s Iron Sharpens Iron conference locations and dates are as follow:

The Men’s Iron Sharpens Iron conference is a one-day conference from 8:30am – 4:55pm. 16 different seminars just for men. For men of all ages (13+) Focal Point Ministries has been serving the local church in Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin since 1994. Its heartbeat is to resource, train, and equip the local church in ministry to and through its men. We believe the Bible is clear that a man’s role is pivotal in the life of his family and in society in general. We also believe that the local church is the most vital connection-point in a man’s life and spiritual growth-walk with Jesus Christ. Within the context of the local church, a man joins in community with other Christ-followers to be trained, equipped, and resourced to be a servant-leader in every area of his life. Having served the local church for 21 years, Focal Point Ministries has become a trusted field ministry impacting thousands of men in a three-state region.

Women’s Conquer Series

Women’s Conquer Series is a powerful 5 week series that deals with unhealthy thinking habits and patterns that cause pain not only in ourselves, but our loved one’s as well.

The facts are clear:  The root of the problem is not the habit or patterns that have been established.  The problem lies in how we deal with the wounds, pain, and trauma in our lives.  When we turn to anything other than Jesus Christ, this is when our enemy attempts to attack and destroy.

Women’s Conquer Series is not just a Bible study.  It is a plan to get educated in the latest brain science regarding wounds and trauma and to use truth found in Scripture to heal and renew our minds.   We will be meeting in the lower level of the church every Tuesday from 7-8:30pm.

April 16, 23, 30, May 7, 14.  Meetings will be led by Chris Tornabene and Crystal Savage.    Please call or text so we can reserve a spot for you. Chris Tornabene   (815) 721-1801

Good Friday Service with Revive Rochelle:  Join us @ 7pm for a time of worship followed by interactive stations where you can reflect on Christ life and death.  This year we will be meeting at the Presbyterian Church, where multiple churches and pastors will be joining together for this Good Friday Service.

Easter Service: We will have normal services at 9:00am & 10:45am.  We will also have a “Sunrise Service” at 6:00am followed by donuts, coffee and orange juice.

Hospitality Ministry:  If you like to help people feel the love of Jesus, there’s a place for you on the Hospitality Ministry. The Hospitality Ministry is a fun and yet low-key way to get connected. The team will help arrange for meals for church families when needed (birth of baby, death of loved one, health crisis, etc.)  Other areas the team will help out in will be church functions that would include a meal.  If this sounds like a way that you could serve others while showing the love of Jesus please call the church at 815-561-8400 or text Megan Dibblee @ 815-761-1878 (Also, if you know someone in church that needs a meal please contact the church office.)

Upcoming Events:  For those of you who are very organized here are some dates to put on your new 2019 calendar –  On June 9th we will have our annual business meeting right after church (takes about 30 minutes) followed by a church picnic. On July 21st church will be held at King’s Camp followed by baptism and then a church picnic.  More Information will follow.

THANK YOU:  Our Culver’s fund raiser was a terrific success.  The church and community really did a great job supporting our youth.  We raised 350.00 dollars from Culver’s and 300.00 in tip jars.  Our youth did a fantastic job helping with the orders, cleaning up trash & tables, greeting people and being wonderful hostess.  It was a fun night to gather together, enjoy some good food and socialize, all for a good cause.

Mission Update

So that you can better pray for these ministries we wanted to give you a little background periodically.  Please take moment to read the update from Rochelle Rescue Mission.

 Dear New Hope Fellowship,
On Behalf of all of us at Rochelle Rescue Mission, we would like to thank each and every one of you for your support that will help us in fulfilling our mission to help others find their way home physically and spiritually.  It is because of people like you we can keep our doors open and provide others with temporary housing and connect them with more permeant resources.  Since we have opened this summer we have been able to help 3 families get places they can call home.  And with great happiness I can say Two of the families have welcomed Jesus into their lives and hearts!  God Bless you all.

In His name, Rochelle Rescue Mission

2019 Bible Reading Plan: If you have a computer smart phone or tablet, you can download a Bible app called You Version.  This app includes many different versions of scripture and reading plans that you can follow.  This year we’ll be encouraging you to check out one called “Word Of God Speak, Part 1.”  To find the plan, go to app and type in Word Of God Speak, Part 1 you version, it will bring you to the plan where you can sign up to begin your 2019 Bible Reading Plan.

(There is a plan for each month of the year, so if you get behind you can start again the first of each month) Join us in reading Word Of God Speak, Part 1:

Word Of God Speak, Part 1

91 Days  – This is the first of four 3-month-long plans, which take you through the entire New Testament and then chronologically through the main events of the Old Testament. In one year, you get an overview of the big story of Scripture in manageable daily amounts. Psalm 1 promises that those who listen to God speaking through His Word will grow strong and fruitful like a healthy tree through life’s seasons.

Attention Parents of 1st grade through 5th grade:

A Note on Kids in Worship:  Our 1st-5th graders have been joining us for worship on the 1st and 5th Sunday each month and we love having them.  We’ve tried to have them do their own worship on the other Sundays before their lesson, but it isn’t the same as getting to participate with the adults and learn worship as we model it for them.  So moving forward we’re going to have this class of kids join in for worship each Sunday and then we’ll send them to their class before the sermon.  Let’s welcome them and encourage them to join us in giving glory and honor to God.

Communion and Family Sunday for the children:
