Dear church family,
I want share with you an update on gathering again in our building. The President recently designated houses of worship as “essential” and called for reopening churches this weekend. This statement comes to the NHF leadership team in the midst of a prayerful conversation about what we can do to reopen. Under the current Illinois phasing guidelines we are in Phase 2. The church is already considered “essential” for services, but CDC guidelines still limit gatherings to only 10 people at this stage. Not until we reach Phase 4 are we allowed to gather in groups of 50 or less, which will come with its own issues to address.
Our hope is to open our doors as soon as we are able while ensuring everyone’s health and safety with appropriate distancing and sanitizing measures. We are looking at doing outdoor services this summer, because even when we can reopen, there will likely be the necessity of creative seating and attendance limits in order to accommodate national, and state guidelines. We will be limited on our ability to provide children’s classes and nursery care until restrictions are totally lifted. Please know that our leadership team is having prayerful discussion about this matter and are working to help us come together again as quickly as possible. Stay tuned and keep praying!
Thanks for your support, faithfulness, and understanding.
