Matthew 5:6 says “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”
In this simple sentence, Jesus Christ challenges us to look at our spiritual appetite with these penetrating words. Blessed are those who have tasted and seen that the Lord is good, and they want more of it. God is constantly transforming us and wants to take us deeper and deeper into our personal relationship to Him. There is always more of His love, grace, and Holy Spirit power to be had. And to truly understand Matthew 5:6, we need to key in on the term “righteousness”. Christ’s righteousness: 1.) changes us from the inside out 2.) no longer seeks the praise of men or women 3.) causes us to seek His approval above everything else.
