Fresh off of Easter Weekend, we’re starting a new series on the ministry of the Apostles in the book of Acts. We’re calling it “Stories of Perseverance” and this first message is based on Acts 4:1-21 where Peter and John are arrested and put on trial for healing a man in the name of Jesus. In the process we discover that opposition to our faith shouldn’t scare us. Clearly the expectation here is that the Holy Spirit will show up powerfully when the Gospel is opposed. They expect that because Jesus promised that would be the case. The message is Jesus, the power is Jesus, their defense is Jesus and they can’t stop. Neither should we.
