Learning to Lead 11: Unveiled Glory

Moses’ experience in the presence of God is shocking.  He’s humbled and he’s repentant, which is good, but we’re just getting warmed up.  It’s amazing to see that He requires no food or water for the 40 days that he’s on the mountain with God and then when he comes back down, he’s radiating the glory of God.  Naturally, I don’t know anyone who’s faced has glowed after they spend time in prayer, so it’s normal to question if this is possible today.  While I haven’t seen anyone who looks radiated, I also can’t say that I know many people pursuing the kind of encounter with God that Moses had, but maybe that should change.   Imagine what God could do in and through us if we were this saturated in Him.

Most of us are happy just to get a few goosebumps when we pray, but is it possible that there is so much more available to us, and we’re simply not tapping into it?  I’m going to suggest that based on the Apostle Paul’s New Testament reference to this event, that we should anticipate more.  Moses had an encounter with God’s glory, but we’re meant to be filled with God.
