What sin have you struggled to turn your back on?
The enemy wants our repeated struggle with a sin to send us into a downward spiral of despair and isolation. God on the other hand wants our struggle with sin to remind us that we don’t have the strength to defeat it on our own. Satan wants us to believe that God couldn’t love someone who sins as much as we do. But, God desires us to reject any hope that we have in ourselves and instead only trust in the righteousness of Christ.
This is precisely what Colossians chapter 3 is all about……..no turning back to the old way. Instead, it’s going deeper into this sanctification process in and through Christ. Colossians 3:17 summarizes it perfectly when it says: “Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.”
In Christ, there is no turning back!
