We are continuing our “Life Verse” sermon series by focusing on Isaiah 6:8….. “Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!” In chapter 6, Isaiah recognizes his own sinfulness and realized that he was not worthy to stand in the presence of the perfect and sinless God. However, we also see here a beautiful picture of God’s grace, forgiveness, and plans that He has for Isaiah. And once Isaiah’s sin was cleared, God gave him a choice to have his heart fully invested in God’s work. Notice, Isaiah doesn’t just reluctantly say “yes”. He actually humbly and without hesitation says “send me!” Isaiah 6:8 shows how God can take our self-reliance, which is really just our flesh weakness, and He can infuse His power into it.
Listen to this message and realize to a greater degree how humility is so very powerful in the kingdom of God.
